A new year

The holidays are over & we're back to our normal routine. Yay! My temp job is done and school is back in session. No more worries about where Parker goes while I'm working. We're all happy with that!

We went to Camp Rilea near Astoria for the New Year holiday with my folks. It was fun, but REALLY windy & rainy. We finally got to see the elk herd, too.

happy holidays!

Happy holidays, everyone! We've had a great holiday (so far!). However, I did have to work for most of it! I took a temp job with the state that ended TODAY!!! We leave for Astoria for a mini vacation tomorrow!

Parker was spoiled (as usual) for Christmas! He says his favorite present is Domino (the kitty). He didn't know he was getting him. He says this ABOVE the trains he got. Wow!

Time Flies!

Boy, I've been remiss! Haven't posted since Halloween! Well, my birthday has passed. I was either taking care of sickies, or being one myself. Parker & I both ended up with bronchitis! But... The girls did take me out! Now we're waiting for tree harvest to be over so Chris can take me out!
Then it was Thanksgiving. Had a great time at my mom's with my cousin Ron & his son, Taylor. Missed Laura, but she was home sick! I'm so glad fences are being mended. I REALLY like Ron & his family!

Now we're moving on to Christmas parties, programs & parades & then THE BIG DAY! Hurry up, Santa!!!

Fall Fun

We've been doing some fun stuff this fall. Parker had a field trip to the Parkerosa (no joke!) Pumpkin Patch with his school. They had a great time chasing each other through the corn maze & picking pumpkins. The patch also had a bunch of animals that the kids got to play with.

After the pumpkin patch, my mom's group had their first annual Halloween Party. What a blast! We had a costume contest (no prize for Parker), a donut eating contest & just lots of fun. I can't wait for the Christmas party!

We also carved our pumpkins! Parker wanted to carve a train, so of course we did! Mine is a happy pumpkin while Chris' was just gross! Spike ended up eating the "puke"!
Next, we have the Halloween Party with his school & I get to be the "mom". The school is learning a new letter every week & the letter du juor will be "F". So I came up with themed snacks that begin "F". Funny bones, franken fudge & fang juice!

Our craft project

Parker & I decided to try a new project. We made pine cone bird feeders. It was fun! Haven't seen the birds on 'em yet, but we're still waiting. It was easy, too. Just smear peanut butter on pine cones then roll them in bird seed. Tie them to a tree, bush or hook & wait!

Pumpkin train

We went on the pumpkin train again! Another wonderful time was had by all. After the train ride, Parker & Chris got to explore the train show at the Blue Pavilion. Parker is STILL talking about it! I'm glad we did it.

Parker & I also went to Marysville with Oma this week. Don't they look good! We had a great time.

Parker also had his 4 year recheck with the cardiologist. He still has a heart murmur, but it is getting better. He gets checked again when he's 6. In the 3 weeks since he had his regular check to the cardio appt, he had gained a pound AND grew 3/4 of an inch!! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!
